With all due respect, Ryback has made tremendous progress. He went out of destroying jobbers to wrestling in main events. This monster fought CM Punk and additionally John Cena in back-to-back main events in Hell In the Cell and Survivor Sequence. He got over with his "Feed Me More" chant together with smash-mouth wrestling style.
At this point, he's become a calcaneus with "Ryback Rules! " The newly minted heel attacked Cena at Raw following WrestleMania and got some title shot. He'll do battle against Cena with the WWE Title at Extreme Rules in a very Last Man Standing coordinate.
Ryback can barely cut live promos in the effective manner. He doesn't grab the WWE Universe while they were hoping. He is likely to breathe heavily, and these were just the pre-taped job interviews. He comes off worse live.
Another problem lies in the booking. It's possibly not entirely Ryback's fault, although he does deserve a lot of blame. Acting like a coward for his size will never make sense. It's understandable if a friend or relative smaller a la CM Punk does it, because he doesn't have a huge muscular build.
The moment Ryback backs off, that comes off as foolish. He should be just like Mark Henry Kane as soon as Big Red Monster to begin with came up: a machine heel who destroys everything in his path. Which is not Ryback.
The worst thing about Ryback's push will be the message it sends to the wrestlers in the spine. Ryback beat no-name wrestlers so that the main event. Since that time, he's lost every single pay-per-view match since Hell In the Cell. What message does indeed that send to his fellow wrestlers?
Is it okay to help you beat nobodies and ascend to your main-event level? There's whilst in wrestle in the midcard dividing. Just beat jobbers, glance dominant and you'll get that main-event spot.
That's a bad message to those who worked for several years in that spot however , didn't get that likelihood. Guys like Wade Barrett, Kofi Kingston and Antonio Cesaro and the like deserve that opportunity before Ryback. They are tomorrow of WWE, not Ryback.
Ryback is often a short-term answer to WWE's deficiency of main eventers. However, their long-term answer is their underdeveloped midcard wrestlers. It's the way they've always done it, and it's better designed for business.
