Mathieu Debuchy praises Newcastle United supporters after 'France morning' - GiveMeFootball.com

Mathieu Debuchy was packed with encouragement for the Newcastle United fans after their 4-2 win against Southampton. Alan Pardew's part played host to his former team at St. David' Park on 'France Day' - dedicated to the Geordies' new increase of French talent. In an endeavor to create their French stars experience at home, fans dressed up in suitable French apparel and the team also put on French themed pre-match leisure to honour the 10 Frenchmen in the team. It seemed to work too, as Newcastle were outstanding in beating the Saints in what was an essential win that may provide some necessary breathing space between Newcastle and the relegation zone. Following the sport, Debuchy was quick to praise both fans and the membership for their progressive concept, saying that the French contingent on Tyneside are appreciative of the efforts. "It was best for us," he informed the club's official site. "It was a great initiative taken by the club to do that, and we got away with success at end of the day, which is fantastic. "It is something which has actually touched me, the warm welcome I have received from everyone - the group, the staff and all of the people associated with Newcastle." Debuchy knows the significance of the win, and showed he's aware of the club's competition too, actually managing a cheeky jibe at local opponents Sunderland. The 27-year-old added: "It was an essential win for people today. Obviously Southampton were there alongside us therefore it was vital that you get before them. "And of course we are taken by it above Sunderland too."
