Giggs to make 1000th Manchester United appearance against Real Madrid - Yahoo! Activities

After sleeping Giggs for the comfortable 4-0 conquer Norwich on Saturday, Ferguson unveiled that the Welshman may achieve his upcoming milestone in midweek. And the Scot explained he thought the overall game against Jose Mourinho's side would have been a fitting occasion to do so. "[Giggs] will soon be included on Tuesday. We couldnat miss that time for the lad. He justifies it," he told MUTV. Former United midfielder Ray Wilkins was also eager to lavish praise upon the 39-year-old, describing him as a "credit" to soccer. "He is up there with anybody in the club's history, you can not play 1000 games until you are the business, there is no two ways about this, Ryan over his career has been definitely outstanding," he told reporters. Wilkins included, "He still has that same perspective, that same passion for the overall game and it's just wonderful to view him perform. I think the man is a huge credit to your soccer, I do. To remain at a like Manchester United for that time period is merely incredible." Follow GOAL.COM on Facebook
