Person City in pole position to signal Falcao - Al-Bawaba

Person City in 'pole place' against Chelsea for Falcao pursuit Birmingham City appears to take the 'post position' to sign Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao in a 50 million-pound bid after the Colombian striker said that he doesn't desire to join Chelsea. City manager Roberto Mancini's hopes of bringing in Falcao to the Etihad were raised by reports claiming that the 50 million-pound rated striker has told his team that he's not open to go to Stamford Bridge, which can be apparently the biggest threat to City in the struggle to land Falcao, the Mirror reports. According to the paper, Mancini is a long-term admirer of the Atletico front-man and will not want a of last summer when he missed on a host of leading objectives to Chelsea in the race to sign Edin Hazard. The report further added that with Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko set to follow Mario Balotelli out of City, the look for striking reinforcements has recently started. City is able to undertake an important overhaul of their team after failing to keep up with the rate being set by Manchester United at the top of the Premier League, the statement added. (ANI)
