Liverpool hope to beat Borussia Dortmund to the signing of Porto striker Knutson Martinez, according to a Daily Express.
The Colombian has experienced an impressive season around Portugal, scoring 33 goals in 38 games in all competitions, and has put a lot of top clubs on alert being the summer transfer window solutions.
The 26-year-old had previously been associated with big-spending Galatasaray, but Dortmund are determined to sign a striker to replace the departing Robert Lewandowski, while using Polish star tipped to affix rivals Bayern Munich.
Liverpool are also in need of strikers, finding themselves over-reliant concerning Luis Suarez on many occasion regarding who the winner, and struggling for goals since the start of his ten-game ban for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic.
