Funny and entertainment held at the Public in West Bromwich might moved to the town's historic town hall as part of plans for the arts centre to be transformed into a faculty.
It was revealed a short while ago that Sandwell College was in talks with council bosses to show the £72 million centre in a sixth-form for 500 A-Level students.
And it is now proposed to move events to the much bigger town hall building if ever the takeover goes ahead. Council bosses said earlier this year they will turn the Grade II listed building to a venue to rival Wolverhampton Civic Hall, investing millions associated with pounds on installing beats and lighting systems.
Deputy council leader Councillor Mahboob Hussain, proclaimed: "If the deal explains with the college we are looking at holding similar sorts of events that your Public used to hold to create life back into Rest of the world Bromwich Town Hall. Early indications are that most of the events that are being held within the Public, and even some bigger ones might held at the town hall because the capacity is bigger.
"This is an opportunity to find a long term future for any Public and types of options we have ended up considering. The college was your best option, not just for People, but for the college additionally. "
Sandwell Council took over the management of the centre last season – a year following it opened – following on from the Arts Council walked out, and continues to pump £1. 5 million annually into the building. Building work with the iconic pink along with black structure, designed just by architect Will Alsop, started in 1995 and after several delays the centre ultimately opened in 2008.

" Sandwelll Council leader Councillor Darren Cooper comes with admitted the arts center was a mistake at all.
He said: "I would say in the beginning it was a error in judgment, in those days I spoke out about that. We have gone exactly where we can with it and with the cuts that we face as a local authority we are considering the long term future and whether we are able to continue to afford to position money into it. "
