Before their new round at Bellator 94, strawweight MMA practitioners Felice Herrig and Heather Clark were already taking shots at each other. But on March 28 while their heated weigh-in staredown drew extra eyes to their match, neither person revealed great sportsmanship in a post-fight scuffle following the final round. A public apology was later posted by herrig for her actions on Twitter, describing the main reason for the bad blood between herself and Clark. According to Herrig, Clark have been attempting to combat her for "almost 2 years" while presumably insulting her for supposedly not attempting to progress to 125 pounds: To begin with I want to apologize to some of my supporters that thought what I did was unsportsmanlike. Looking straight back about it now I probably shouldn't have reacted like that but my feelings got the greater of me. Louise has been on a mission for pretty much 24 months now attempting to fight me and has done the typical trashing of me to try and get that attention to do it. My management shared with her she didnt need certainly to go that way and just needed seriously to prove she could make 115lbs and we'd consider it. Alternatively she continued to fight at 125lbs and stored up her hypocritical insults. After Herrig and Clark completed a match at Bellator 94, Herrig yelled in Clark's experience, enjoying her very own final right MMA victory. Clark responded by backhanding Herrig over the face, which caused Herrig to reach back before refereeAJorge Ortiz divided them. Herrig also mentioned in her Twitter information that she was "tired" of "bigger girls" challenging her to matches outside her normal weight class. Just before their struggle, Herrig also put Clark at the Bellator 94 weigh-ins, pushing back the older, bigger fighter after weight was made by them both at the strawweight control. Whatever the minor dispute, Herrig's gain in her second Bellator MMA appearance cements her status as one of the top-ranked and more familiar female competitors in her division. Herrig has gone on an undefeated 4-0 work since 2012, with her last damage coming against Carla Esparza, the present Invicta FC strawweight champ. Clark, a Greg Jackson's MMA group member, has fallen to 1-3 in her last four battles, withABellator 94 marking her first group of job back-to-back losses.
