Early in the day this week, the Dallas Mavericks owner caused a serious stir when he said he would be willing to draft Baylor Lady Bears star Brittney Griner in the second round of the NBA draft (via ESPN's Tim MacMahon ): Cuban said he'd consider choosing Griner, a three-time All-American and Big 12 player of the year, in the 2nd round of the NBA draft. If the Mavs don't write her, Cuban said he'd have "no problem whatsoever" inviting Griner to test for an area on Dallas' summer league team. 'If she is the best on the board, I'll simply take her,' Cuban said before the Mavs' Tuesday evening sport against theALos Angeles Lakers. 'I have seriously considered it. I've thought about it already. Could I really do it? Right now, I'd slim toward yes, just to see if she may do it. You never know until you give somebody a chance, and it's nothing like the chances of any late-50s draft pick features a good chance of earning it.'
