Real Madrid, Juventus to Perform in Global Winners Glass in U.S. This... - Bleacher Report

A European-style knockout competition is coming to America come early july. Three of the ten groups involved have already been released, and their details should create lots of excitement. It is named the International Champions Cup, and Real Madrid and Juventus have been completely established as taking part. The next established team could be the La Galaxy of Major League Soccer. Activities Illustrated's Grant Wahl broke the story Monday: The new contest, which can be being called the International Champions Cup, will need place throughout the U.S., with the final at Miami's Sun Life Stadium. There will be two groups of foura'Eastern and Western groups. The competition, that includes a important title recruit and a TV deal, will be officially declared on Tuesday in Miami, with figures from many of the participating groups on hand. ESPN Hamilton Academical reports that the tournament is defined to begin July 27 with friends match in Europe. Phoenix, San Francisco and Indianapolis can apparently host party suits, with semifinals set for Nyc and Los Angeles on Aug. 3-4. The report also notes that the tournament already includes a title sponsor and that tv coverage is planned for 151 countries. If you're an American and a fan of the wonderful game, this would be good news. It is hard not to be excited by what's going on here. As Wahl records, the ICC is overpowering the mantle of the Entire World Football Challenge, which for decades offered fans just one-off events. The ICC may rather provide group and knockout periods. Midfielder Andrea Pirlo and Juventus lead the Italian Serie A.Valerio Pennicino/Getty Images What's more, the ICC is intended to become an annual celebration. If top teams keep making the trip to the U.S. each summer, the game is likely to keep increasing stateside. With Real Madrid taking part, American fans could have another opportunity to see Cristiano Ronaldo, who is perhaps the most marketable person on earth. True Madrid also played in the U.S. last summer. Juventus currently lead Serie A and might enter the contest as back-to-back Italian winners. The official statement, which was originally scheduled for Tuesday, has been pushed back to later this week (per Wahl's Twitter bill ): The official news and the coming days must fill in some of the holes, including the identities of the other five clubs in the match. Until then, we could only speculate about which clubs may fill in the field. Which groups are you wanting will take part?
